Tips for Avoiding the Dreaded Double Chin in Pictures!!
* Stretch your neck like a turtle – Yep, like a turtle! Push your shoulders back and then push the chin forward. Chin forward but not up. It may feel a little awkward at first. The goal is to remain relaxed and stretch out your neck*
* Make-up sometimes helps. Contour the jawline by darkening the area just below your jawline. This will create a shadow effect. A little highlighter on the tip of the chin will make it seem to pop forward.
* Posture, make sure you are standing up straight, shoulders back but don’t lean back. We have a tendency when we smile to lean back. It’s an intuitive reaction. Especially when there is a camera pointed at us. For shy types, it’s like subconsciously you want to get as far away as you can from the camera. Don’t. Lean into it. Stand strong. Tilt your head. Work with your photographer to find the best angle.
* Shoot from slightly above. Your photographer may choose to shoot you from a slightly taller angle. Up to down to minimize the visibility of a double chin.
